Christmas is a great time to let your child explore their artistic side and get creative. Brighten up your windows with these sun catcher ornaments. Christmas crafts for kids are fun to create all together with family and friends. Many art projects can be modified so that all ages can participate and help make the project.
Let your child be creative and experiment with the collage technique demonstrated below. Painting with tissue paper is one of my all time favorite collage techniques not only for my own artwork but also working with children. It always turns out so beautiful.
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE GIVEAWAY INFORMATION at the bottom of the post. We are giving away prize packages worth $1800! What a great way to kick off the holiday season.
Glue (mixed with a bit of water)
Step 1: Tape down wax paper to your work surface.
Step 2: Tear or cut shapes of tissue paper and lay on top of the wax paper.
Step 3: Use the paint brush to cover the tissue paper with glue. Be sure to cover each tissue paper shape completely with glue. Let your child experiment with overlapping and layering of colors. Let dry (you may wish to peel off the tape and gently lift the wax paper to make sure it does not stick to your table).
Step 4: Once the tissue paper has completely dried cut out your ornament shapes.
Step 5: Hang in the window. Add strips of ribbon to the top of your ornaments.
And here is what you have been waiting for….THE GIVEAWAY!
