To kick off our Hand Made Summer Fun Series, we created a tissue paper collage. It is no secret working with tissue paper is one of my favorite art projects. I enjoy using it with kids because no matter what the age or skill level it always turns out visually interesting. Lil B (now 5) and M-Woww (almost 3) had a blast as we talked about what the sun is and why it is important to life on Earth.
Tissue Paper (We used different shades of blue and yellow)
Glue Water Mix (2 parts glue to 1 part water)
2 pieces of Card stock Paper
Step 1: Collect your supplies. I save tissue paper from birthdays and holidays so we had a variety of colors to use for our artwork. We seperated the colors into warm colors and cool colors. Step 2: Tear or cut your pieces of tissue paper. On one piece of card stock paper, glue down the cool color tissue paper by using the brush to paint on your glue mixture over the top of the tissue paper. On the second card stock paper, glue the warm color tissue paper. Let papers dry completely. While our papers were drying, we went outside to play in the sun.
