Digital Photo Alphabet

Digital Photography Ideas for Kids

Create your own digital photo alphabet book or poster! Pretend to be a detective looking for letter forms in the positive and negative space around you. It doesn’t matter if you are outside or inside, but take a close look and you will spy the different letter forms hiding in the space around you.

Positive Space is space occupied by an object.

Negative Space is the space around or between objects.

Photography Ideas

*Adult Supervision and help is recommended for this activity.

Materials:

Digital Camera (or cell phone camera)

Computer and/or Printer

Tutorial:

Step 1: Find the letter forms using the positive or negative space in the environment around you.

Step 2: Photograph the letter (a bright sunny day will lead to better looking photos).

Step 3: Download and edit photos as needed.

Step 4: Print photos and insert into a photo album or upload to a photo site and design your own photo book. Another idea is to put the photos together into a collage and print as an alphabet poster. You can use a free photo editing website like pic monkey to edit your photos or create a collage.

Share your alphabet photos! We love to see your photos.  Share on Instagram #handmadekidsart, Facebook or Google +
