Spring has sprung! With the arrival of warmer weather go outside and be a nature explorer using your 5 senses.
This STEAM activity for preschoolers combines Science and Art for an easy way to observe the signs of Spring through what you see, hear, smell, touch and taste. Read below for our full tutorial.
Drawing Materials (Crayons, Markers or Colored Pencils)
A nice spring day!
Step 1: Print off the free printable and go outside to explore nature using your 5 senses.
Step 2: Ask your child what they observe as signs that Spring has arrived. Prompt your child to use their 5 senses, what do they see, hear, smell, touch and taste.
Now for taste, be sure to talk about safe things to eat from outside (like food from the garden that has been washed) and things that are not safe to eat.
Step 3: Let your child be creative and record their observations by drawing. There is no right or wrong way to draw or create but what is important is learning to use the 5 senses to be nature explorers and observers.
